WASHINGTON -- Following the passage of the extenders legislation, the Internal Revenue Service announced today it anticipates opening the 2015 filing season as scheduled in January.
The IRS will begin accepting tax returns electronically on Jan. 20. Paper tax returns will begin processing at the same time.
We are happy to report that we have begun releasing RTs. The RTs being released are from states that have started to release state refund amounts. Be sure to use the Federal/State Product Disbursement Worksheet, available in your Forms and Materials section of your account to help explain your customers disbursement amounts to them.
RTs are released to your customers when the IRS or state releases the refunds
As of today, the IRS has NOT begun releasing refunds yet this year to anyone. We expect the IRS to begin releasing federal refunds sometime within the next week. We will let you know just as soon as that occurs.
